The BLOSSOM (Blowing the Lid Off Sanitary Sewer Overflow Monitor) is designed to estimate the flow rate for overflowing manholes with consistent, repeatable results. The BLOSSOM calculates flow rates based on the flow formula for a rectangular contracted weir and field calibration. This device has been field-tested for over 5 years and local regulators accept is quantification methods. Admittedly, there is potential for error. However, the BLOSSOM provides far more accurate overflow measurements than previously possible.
